The main goal of the National Center for Teacher Professional Development is to promote enhancement of quality teaching and learning in schools by ensuring professional knowledge in teachers, establishing high performance standards and raising professional status of teachers. Since 2008 the Center had been implementing the activities along the two main priority directions:
• professional development of current teachers;
• attracting qualified teachers, supporting their training and retention on teacher positions.
