Teach For Georgia is looking for applicants who will be leaders in the classroom and beyond. There are many ways to demonstrate professionalism and leadership qualities, and we view applicants holistically by looking for evidence of demonstrated past achievement: achieving ambitious, measurable results in academics, extra-curricular activities, and/or work leadership.
We will select our Fellows based on their emerging skills, specifically looking for:
- Ability to achieve ambitious goals- Ability to work effectively in challenging environments- Ability to think and plan strategically- Communication skills- Commitment to continuously improving performance- Commitment to the Teach For Georgia mission
The application process begins online, where the applicant submits a resume and a letter of intent. Applicants also provide diplomas including transcripts from their undergraduate and graduate institutions. The next steps are an examination of their subject competences and an interview. 
Before the school year begins, Teach For Georgia brings all Fellows together for an intensive course of trainings, where Fellows begin to develop the foundational tools needed to be excellent teachers in a variety of areas such as lesson planning, student and parent engagement in the school life, effective communication with students, colleagues, community, class management and motivation, problem identification, self-evaluation, etc.
