On the basis of President's initiative, Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia with National Center for Teachers' Professional Development worked out new academic course of Civil Defense and Security. The course considers such issues as civil defense, traffic safety, first aid, Georgian army history and military review.
In the course development process representatives from Ministry of Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources and foreign experts are participating.
Trainings at each module was led by the representatives from the corresponding institutes. During the training, participants had practical exercises, and on the final day role-playing game were held, during which participants were able to identify the knowledge.
The trainings were conducted in 2 stages: First, in July-August, 2010 a total of 2255 teachers passed the trainigs.These teachers will be teaching the course of Civil Defense and Security in 12th grades. On the second stage, in November-December, 2010 additional training course was organized for 4th and 8th grade teachers.
The academic course of Civil Defense and Security was implemented in schools from September 2010. |
