The second level trainings: “Integrating Information and Communication Technologies in the Learning Process” Print E-mail

In 2009 the second level course in ICT had been developed and a training guide “Using Information and Communication Technologies in the Learning Process” had been published. The main goal of the course is to support the teachers to integrate ICT in teaching according to the National Curriculum and Teacher Professional Standards. The course is delivered in 39 academic hours and is divided in four modules: the role of ICT and the opportunities for its integration in the teaching process; planning and delivering ICT-integrated lessons; planning and implementing ICT- integrated educational projects, professional development through ICT. Out of the 300 schools that had access to internet connection, 1714 teachers attended the second level training. Up to 1500 teachers prepared ICT-integrated lesson plans and school projects which were posted on internet with accompanying digital resources (blogs, presentations, evaluation rubrics, audio and video files and etc.); this promoted diversification of Georgian language digital learning resources and learning environment, as well as purposeful and planned use of computer labs in the learning process. In 2010 another 3500 teachers will participate in the second level training course in ICT.
